NZOSS 2015 AGM - 13-19 September


The 2015 NZOSS AGM will be a not be at a specific time, but rather asynchronous over the course of a week: Sun 13- Sat 19 Sept.

We are still taking nominations for candidates for council and Vice President and President - just nominate yourself or someone else (ideally with their permission). We provide instructions if you want to nominate someone or yourself.

At our 2014 AGM, the voting members of the Society elected the following Councillors: 

President's Report 2013-14


Shortly after our 2012-13 AGM, the culmination of several years of hard work by a dedicated group within the NZOSS and some of our sector collaborators, the NZ government altered our Patents legislation to block the patenting of software. In the warm glow of that major victory for all New Zealand software developers, the year has been one of quiet growth for the Society, but very busy for the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) world at large.



The NZOSS has held its 2012 Annual General Meeting starting at 17:30 this evening, 6 August 2012.

2012 AGM - 6 August, 17:30


The NZOSS will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Monday, 6 August at 17:30. It will take place online (using IRC, the #nzoss room on, with physical locations in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch as well for members to gather.

We will be nominating and electing council members and the executive. If you have any interest in taking part in the council or in running for executive office (president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer), please either nominate yourself, or let others know you're keen!
